Are you unsure about how to express the feelings you have towards your boyfriend as often as you should? Or are you looking for some new sweet catchphrases to text to your man? Here is a list of general suggestions, in no particular order of importance of cute things you can say to your boyfriend. Though face-to-face interaction is vital to strengthening relationships, these phrases are just as sweet via text message when you can’t be with your boyfriend. Enjoy, take some liberties if you wish, and have fun.
1) I love your smile
Compliments are always a great ego boost, as long as you are genuine. This is easy to alter to accommodate all of the other things you like about your boyfriend. Just tell him! Take the opportunity to use this specific line in the middle of some laughter.
2) You’re so handsome!
The media puts a lot of pressure on males to be the flatterer, but they deserve just as many compliments, and as such, they greatly enjoy them. Don’t get frustrated if he isn’t quite convinced at first, or he is a little bit uncomfortable with compliments. It’s understandable if they aren’t used to it, and oftentimes, men are just as insecure about their bodies as women can be. However, it’s important to let him know that you are physically attracted to him. An especially great time to use this line is on a nice date, but it won’t do any harm to throw it into your everyday conversations.
3) I love it when you do that
Once again, genuine praise is valuable. If you are having fun, or if he does something particularly sweet, this is a great way to thank him. I particularly love it when my boyfriend cookies, or when he kisses me a certain way, and I say this all the time.
4) You’re really great at cheering me up
This is a great compliment to give to anyone. It’s not easy to make someone feel better when they are having a bad day. If he is good at bringing out your smiles, or at listening and caring when you are distraught, tell him under the circumstances. It will no doubt boost his confidence in his relationship with you, and in his ability to help when you need it. .
5) I wish you were here!
An oldie but a goodie. If you have to be apart for an extended period of time, let him know that you are thinking about him and that no matter what, you want to be with him. Everyone wants to be missed by the person they love, and it feels good to know that your significant other enjoys being with you so much that its hard to be away.
6) You’re so sweet
Let him know that you appreciate and love everything he does for you. It’s easy to forget to show appreciation for your partners actions, but its very important, especially due to the differences in communication that tend to exist between men and women. Don’t underestimate the power of verbalization.
7) I really like you. (or) I love you
If you haven’t said the big ‘L’ word yet, tell him you like him on a regular basis. Verbalization is important to partners, especially in the early stages of your relationship. Don’t be too shy. If you have told each other that you love each other, don’t forget to remind each other on a pretty regular basis, especially during hard times. Those three simple words can be extremely comforting and reassuring, even if you happen to have a squabble.
8) Is there anything I can do?
If your guy is having a rough day or week, try not to be too pushy. Sometimes it’s hard to open up when tensions are high. However, let him know that you are there if he wants to talk or if he wants some cheering up. Ask him if he would like any assistance, or anything to cheer him up. That way, he knows you are thinking about him, but you can also either give him space if he needs it, or do something to lift his spirits.
9) Good morning!
Waking up to a good morning text is always nice, no matter the situation. Let him know that he is the first thing on your mind when you wake up. For added sweetness, tell him that you hope he has a great day, or that you can’t wait to see him!
10) Sleep well!
Similarly, he will love to know that you are thinking about him before bed, and will appreciate the sentiment. Wish him well before he dozes off. Even a few “sweet dreams” are nice.
11) You make me feel safe
There is no other feeling like being utterly comfortable and calm in your partners embrace. It’s a very special thing that isn’t necessarily natural for everyone, so when you find the man that does make you feel safe, tell him how special that is. Even if you don’t adhere to traditional gender roles, it will boost his ego and make him feel like a great boyfriend (which he is).
12) I had a great time on our last date
One big mistake couples make is ceasing to go on dates after a few months of being together. Dates keep relationships exciting and are a special time to spend with your partner, when you can both set your worries aside for a bit and simply enjoy each other’s company. Remind him how much fun it is to go on dates!
